What a fabulous time riding with Heaven on Horseback! The horses are beautiful, happy, and well-schooled. The guides and fellow riders were really lovely. The locale was absolutely dreamy. I couldn't have imagined the variety of landscapes we would see. The scenery seemed to change by the minute on every ride! Absolutely recommend this ride as the BEST way to explore New Zealand's natural beauty

Just completed the five day Twin Shores ride with Heaven on Horseback. I probably rode on the best horse I’ve ever ridden. Mason is a responsive incredibly polite forward moving gelding, The general condition and preparation of all of Jane’s horses is outstanding. we had five days of excellent warm cosy accommodation with all of our nutritional needs met in a stylish and practical way. We rode challenging varied interesting and beautiful terrain. 5 Days On great horses with comfortable tack. Heaven on Horseback‘s love their horses and professional staff managed logistics and group dynamics admirably. 10 out of 10 rating.

I did a ride with Jane and her fantastic team in December and having ridden in NZ before, in Europe and in Australia, this ride was the BEST EVER! It's the scenery, the swimming in the ocean, the wild horses, the cantering through the forest, the long canters on the beach, the wonderful horses, the delicious food, the laughter, the hot showers etc etc. Jane should be commended for knowing how to give everyone a magnificent holiday on truly magnificent horses in a place that really is heaven.

I've been riding for over 30 years. I own 8 horses and ride a lot. But even I was scared I wouldn't be able to tolerate 4 to 6 hours in the saddle. But after the first day, I was 100% fine and was able to handle the rides easily. The saddles were so comfortable and the horses were so easygoing and surefooted. I was in awe that in less than a week, we saw such beautiful old and new forests, beaches, sand dunes, wild horses, two seas coming together, and the last day is the most stunning view atop a beautiful hill overlooking the bay of islands. Simply breathtaking. I was so impressed with the ability to accommodate both beginner and seasoned riders and newbies should not be nervous. The saddles are comfortable and the horses are quiet. It was simply marvellous and I will be recommending this to everyone back home in California. Well done Jane and staff!

We highly recommend this trek. It offers a little bit of everything. Jane, Gabbie and Gary were wonderful hosts and guides and the horses were amazing. It is absolutely Heaven on Horseback.

I absolutely loved this ride, it surpassed all my high expectations. We were so well looked after and were always made to feel safe, happy, comfortable and well-fed! The scenery and terrain are just breathtaking and so varied. You ride through challenging bush, on gentle farmland, along atmospheric forest tracks, climb up and down glittering sand dunes, wade through deep lakes, then long, exhilarating beach canters and swim bareback in the sea. Just wow. And then, of course, there was my horse, Rocky. I totally fell in love with him. Riding such a big, beautiful, strong, fast, kind, and responsive horse was an incredible privilege. I couldn’t stop crying when I said goodbye to him – the ultimate dream horse. I would recommend this ride to any horse lover. I would return tomorrow if I could!

Me and my husband (are from England) and had the most magical week with riding with Jane on the twin coast ride on the north shores of New Zealand in November 2023. We rode James fantastic horses Galaxy and Dolly, we saw amazing varied scenery, wild horses, the pink beach, the 90 mile beach and never ending forests as well as lush green farmland and rolling hills. We even managed to trek over sand dunes, so we felt like we were traversing a desert somewhere. (And and rode saddleless in the sea twice) Jane and her team were so professional and expert, the food, accommodation, and the thought that went into the routes and trekking as well as the horses which were all superb, we cannot say enough about this ride 5 days of magic riding that we will never forget.
